Miss Jess has been with Dance Education Centre since before Miss Amanda took over the school in 2012 taking classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Commercial, Conditioning, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. (Dance Education Centre is her second home!) She is a super Teaching Assistant to all the Teachers and has a clear passion for all things dance. Outside of dance, Miss Jess is continuing her sixth form studies at Heathside School and is also an accomplished singer, having passed her Grade 6 Singing exam. The Street dance class has been full since Jess took over teaching in September 2020.
Tessa Smith KS 1 & 2 Teacher
Miss Tessa joined Dance Education Centre in 2015, first doing ballet but quickly adding tap, modern, contemporary and commercial to her repertoire. She won the DEC Ambassador Award in 2018 for being a strong role model to the other children and embodying the DEC spirit of Bringing Dance to Life. She has been a wonderful teaching assistant since 2017, helping in more than eight classes every week and is loved equally by pupils and teachers. Outside of dancing, Miss Tessa has achieved her Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, and whilst she continues her sixth form studies, finds time to play the drums and volunteer at a rabbit sanctuary! Miss Tessa’s long term ambition is to become an RAF pilot.
