The Dance Education Centre is a friendly, fun and exciting dance school. We offer enthusiastic tuition for children 2 ½ years to adult, encouraging the enjoyment of dance, imagination and helping to build confidence within a happy social atmosphere. Students will gain and develop musical awareness, poise, concentration and motivation. Classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Freestyle and Cheerleading are available. Performances and I.D.T.A exams are encouraged. 

SOPHIE WELLS BA(Hons), PGCE(A), FIDTA, DExDip. - DIRECTOR:  Sophie has 14 years experience teaching in a dance school environment working as a qualified teacher in numerous dance genres.  She currently teaches ballet, tap, modern-jazz, theatrecraft, freestyle, cheerleading and musical theatre to children, adults and student teachers.  She teaches exam sylllabus as well as festival and show work and also prepares couples for wedding dances.  She also works as a fitness instructor and currently works with mums and babies on the Pushy Mothers programme. 

Sophie loves teaching and the involvement in the running of the school - especially show and exam work and after many years experience in these fields, alongside her performance work, her work in Dance Development and lecturing at the University of Surrey and her teaching of Dance A Level and BTEC in many south eastern colleges she is well equipped to enhance the development of a fantastic school. 

EMMA SAUNDERS BA(Hons), AIDTA - TEACHER:  Emma has many years dance training, performances and teaching experience behind her.  After teaching on community outreach programmes in many Surrey and Hampshire schools as well as teaching exam and performance classes at Aspects of Dance Academy and free classes at UniSport (University of Surrey).  She is a very innovative and enthusiastic teacher who inspires confidence and encourages the best from every participant.

HANNAH CALLABY AISTD, PADip - TEACHER: Hannah has graduated from the Italia Conti School of Performing Arts and is hoping to continue to study alongside her dance teaching for a PGCE in Dance.  She is a well equipped performer and teacher.  She has an excellent manner with the children which will enthuse any young dancer and give them something to aspire to.
